Abdominal pain after dentist appointment?

my husband got a mercury amalgam filling, and they gave him a lot of Novocaine. He's been feeling really sick pretty much ever since and he very rarely ever gets sick. We would call the dentist but they are closed today. Could there be any possible correlation between his dental appointment and his abdominal pain? I know it's a stretch but just thought I would ask. thanks for your polite answers!
