Empress Wu Zhao?

I wouldn't call her a hero, but she was certainly a good and just ruler on the political level. However, she was definitely a villain when it came to family values... heartless, really, not a shred of love in her even for her own sons. It might be understandable why she did away with her husband's other wives before she came to power, but to kill her own children is really a bit much.
