Why was the sorting area in Auschwitz called "Canada"?

the wolfsangel yes, but also the symbol of the 2nd SS Panzer Division. Anyway, the term 'canada' was named for the storage areas from the loot plundered from the jewish victims. Canada, at the time (right or wrong), was ociated with mind boggling riches or value, the initial slang caught on and was used in other buildings where the plunder was sorted for shipment.
