Is the new translations bible as accurate as JWs claim?

One thing my mom (a JW) has always told me is that one Hebrew language proffessor (sp?) said NWT was the most accurate version, almost exact. But then I read that someone actually talked to someone who studied the hebrew language who said that the NWT was the least accurate.
